NYC Achilles Tandem Bike Program
in partnership with
Bike New York, Recycle-a-Bike and Fuji Bicycles
welcomes riders of all ability levels.
Any person with a disability
is invited to participate.
Able-bodied captains are needed!
Training will be provided on how to captain a tandem
with a rider who is disabled.
Volunteers who own tandem bikes
are also needed!
Currently, Achilles NYC has twelve tandem bikes available,
on a first-come, first-served, basis.
Many thanks to the folks at Fuji bikes and Recycle-a-Bicycle,
for their support in helping us obtain and maintain our tandem bikes!
The Tandem Bike Program features:
Scheduled rides every month.
Classes for Tandem Bike Teams
(captain and rider with a disability),
and classes on bike repair.
Our first captain/stoker training session will be held
on Sunday, April 30th, 8 AM - 12 Noon in Central Park.
