Our volunteers
are people who enjoy running; they are friendly, considerate men and women
who think everyone should be able to experience the joy of running.
Volunteering to run with Achilles members in regularly scheduled workouts
is a way to get out and exercise in a low-stress, friendly
environment. As a volunteer you are not expected to be a
professional, or an expert on health or nutritional matters. Your role is
that of a companion. You are there for safety, morale, conversation, fun
and exercise. Even so, it is a good idea to know something about running
with a disabled person.
